Application of DC Power Supply in Fuse/Fuse Testing

2022-11-02
Background:

Fuses, or fuses, need to input a fixed voltage to test the quality of fuses. There are two main test requirements for testing fuses:

1. Agreed non fusing current: It is mainly to input a fixed current to the fuse within the specified time to ensure that the fuse will not be blown.

2. Agreed fusing current: input a fixed current within a certain period of time, and the fuse will be blown to protect the circuit.

Scheme Details:

Agreed non fusing current test: the constant current output of the DC Power Supply is selected, the current output is stable, the fuse is directly connected, the current is close to the theoretical current value, and the online adjustment function is required. The oscilloscope is used to collect and view the waveform.

Agreed fuse current test: the wiring method is the same as the agreed non fusing current test. Test the fusing time, set the Power Supply to 14V, and adjust the constant current to the rated current. When the air switch is closed, collect the time and current characteristic curve when fusing.

Solution:

The APM SP-1U/2U series high-performance Programmable DC Power Supply has two operating modes: constant voltage and constant current. The voltage range is 0~800V. The constant current mode can provide constant current to the fuse and can be adjusted online to meet the two test requirements of the fuse.
